Both the iPhone and Android have built in mail apps that you can use to setup email on. Alternatively Microsoft Outlook has an app that you can install on your device for free. Below are instructions on setting up that app.
- On your devices go to the app store or google play store.
- Using the search type in Microsoft Outlook.
- Click get or install on the Outlook app (The icon will look like the one in the screenshot below).
- Once it finishes downloading click on the Outlook icon on your device.
- It will prompt you to add an account, put in your email address and hit add account.
- It will then prompt for your password.
- You may get prompted to put in a text code, please enter that in.
- It should be all set, you will get asked if you want to add another account you can choose maybe later. You can also skip through the tutorials it gives you
- There are a couple settings I recommend changing once you are in:
- Turn off Focused Inbox. Focused inbox splits your inbox into 2 by trying to auto detect important and non important emails. I personally prefer everything going into 1 place. You can turn it off by clicking the 3 dashes in the top left, then choosing the settings icon, uncheck the focused inbox option so it turns grey.
- The other option you may want to change is saving your email contacts to your phone. If you were previously using the built in apple or android mail app on your devices it may have linked some of your phone contacts to that account so when you removed it they vanished. But don’t worry if that happened you can easily add them back. Like above go to the 3 dashes in the top left then choose the settings icon again, this time click where it shows your email address and Office 365, then turn on the save contacts option. That should regain those contacts.
